First generation native Granville “Dan” Fain was born to Cary and William Marion Fain in 1879. Destined to become one of Arizona’s best-known and most respected cattle ranchers, Dan roped his last wild stray on Mingus Mountain after age eighty.
After five generations in Central Arizona, it’s unlikely the Fains will ever leave their ranching heritage behind, as the Rafter Eleven cattle operation thrives on even today. What began with the arrival of William Marion Fain and his young wife in the Arizona Territory of 1874 has evolved over the years - the gigantic herds of once free-ranging cattle are now more compact and contained.
Choosing Fain Signature Group as the guiding hand that opens the gate on Prescott Valley for your business venture will likely help ensure your success here - because when it comes to the once “Lonesome Valley”, no one knows and respects the native terrain better than the Fains.
Ranching is no longer the sole business enterprise around these parts, but those determined cattlemen of earlier days tamed a rugged landscape, shaping it into something useful and productive, knowing that others would come. This valley’s purpose has evolved, broadening and deepening in new ways. Birthing a thriving, independent town: Prescott Valley, brimming with new “settlers” and almost endless possibilities.
